Here's a little something that automakers and the liars at Stratacomm
and SUV Owners of America won't tell you: Contrary to their lies,
"Hummers" don't protect anybody but criminals' bank accounts.
Army needs more tanks to protect soldiers

Washington-AP -- A fiercer resistance in Iraq means the Army needs stronger
protection.
Military leaders are shifting gears and seeking additional tanks and other
heavily armored vehicles to offer more protection for soldiers.
It's a bit of a reversal. When the Army rotated fresh units into Iraq this
spring, they were sent in with lighter, more agile Humvees. But now that
insurgent fighting has escalated, military commanders realize the level of
armor must rise as well.
According to a senior defense official, one top commander has indicated that
equipping Humvees with extra armor is not enough, and that the troops need
tougher equipment.
