The coveted Guckert Award for February 2005

The coveted Guckert Award for February 2005 goes to none other than Mr. John "Jeff Gannon" Guckert himself -- which is fitting since the Award was named after him. (And we can hope that all future Award winners can meet or excell in such excellence as that exhibited by Mr. Guckert himself.)

Mr. Guckert's Guckert Award came on the heels of a massive media exposure of his gay male prostitute line of business after having passed himself off successfully as a fake White House journalist for over two years. Having no experince as a journalist or a reporter but having extensive experience as a male "top" hooker (and having a couple of highly-placed gay contacts stationed in the Oval Office itself -- probably under Bush's desk, wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more) managed to whore his way to the "top" in treasonous debauchery of everything the American media is supposed to be about (you know, those old ideals of exposing the truth, smacking down the political crooks, informing the populace so that they can make an informed decision on which way to take their Democracy... Those kinds of obsolete ideals.)

Thanks to the Internet -- and Americablog and Media Matters -- old Mr. Guckert got himself an ass reaming he didn't get paid for!

So in recompense, take heart, Mr. Guckert, or Gannon, or whatever you're calling yourself these days. The very first Guckert Award is yours.
